Humanitarian Aspirations
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Luke 4:18-19 KJV
Through his entire ministry, the Lord Jesus lived Luke 4:18-19 out – reaching every bracket of the social pyramid from poor people, lepers, and prostitutes to the Samaritans, women, children and tax collectors. He was eager to accept everyone regardless of his or her social position or state in life. He told his followers to “love your neighbor.” There are no exceptions. And in Luke 14:13-14 (KJV), he gave powerful instructions: “But when thou makes a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed….”
IRN aims to live that out as an organization. We want to empower God’s people to do the same by reaching out to everyone around us, regardless of their social standing or background. As candles on a hill, we are walking forward as a beacon of light to everyone we encounter—you too can be a part of IRN’s mission ministry.
